Guy Dowling performs reconstructive plastic surgery procedures. His particular interest is in reconstructive hand surgery, for which he undertook specialist training in Melbourne and London.

After gaining admission as a Fellow to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2003, Guy spent a further two years specializing in paediatric hand surgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital, in Melbourne.

At the end of 2004 Guy was awarded the Hugh Johnston scholarship from The College of Surgeons, to study for a further 12 months in London at The Hospital for Sick Children at Great Ormond Street.

Guy Dowling has a public hospital appointment at Southern Health, the largest health care network in Victoria. This includes work in congenital hand surgery as well as general hand and plastic surgery.

Guy is the Director of Surgical Training at Southern Health and an honorary senior lecturer in the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Monash University. In 2009, Guy was appointed supervisor of plastic surgery training for Accredited Plastic Surgery Registrars at Southern Health.

Guy is also a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Victorian and Australian Hand Surgery Societies.
