As a fully qualified Surgeon, Guy Dowling performs both reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery procedures. His particular interest is in paediatric reconstructive hand surgery, for which he undertook specialist training in Melbourne and London . In addition to this, a significant part of Guy’s practice includes general hand surgery and reconstructive and cosmetic breast surgery.

After gaining admission as a Fellow to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2003, Guy spent a further two years specializing in paediatric hand surgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital, in Melbourne.

At the end of 2004 Guy was awarded the Hugh Johnston scholarship from The College of Surgeons, to study for a further 12 months in London at The Hospital for Sick Children at Great Ormond Street.

Guy Dowling has a public hospital appointment at Southern Health. This includes work in congenital hand surgery and breast reconstruction as well as general plastic surgery. Guy is the Director of Surgical Training at Southern Health and an honorary senior lecturer in the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Monash University.

Guy is also a member of both the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Australian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
